Name meanings

I chose the names Warren, Eve and Lucifer for my characters.

Lucifer is my main character, the man with the young mind, and I chose this name because it is supposedly the name of The Devil. It's supposed to reflect on the evil in Lucifer's character in my product.

I chose Eve as another Bible reference, Eve is a very innocent woman and something very bad happens to her. This is supposed to reflect on my Eve's story.

I looked up names that meant guardian on google, and one name came up as Warin:
WARIN: Old High German name derived from the word wari(n), meaning "cover, shelter," from warnôn "to be careful, watchful." 


A close English name to Warin is Warren, so I used this name to reflect on Warren's character, Eve's protector.

Voice Over

I have written to script for my voice over:

My name is Lucifer. I’m thirty-four years old. You won’t believe me when you see me. At the age of thirteen I was diagnosed with a mental illness. Mine means that no matter how much I age, my brain will always stay adolescent, that it will no longer develop. It also means that I have a bad sense of communication, and morals. For example, some people might see it as wrong that three days ago – I killed the love of my life.

That’s me. And that’s Eve. I loved her from the very moment I saw her.

Then she grew up. She found someone else.

That’s Warren. He found out that I loved Eve. She was his.

I gate crashed the wedding. It’s not unlike me to be… unexpected.

Eve… Eve… Eve… Eve…

I killed him first.

She couldn’t be his, I wanted her.

So I took her.

Wanna know who I killed next?

The question I pose at the end of the script shows that the story is about to lead on, helping indicate that this is just the title sequence. 

Finished the Titles

I've just finished placing the titles on my film. The names are all successfully showing in the lower third (with fade in fade out dissolve for smoother editing) and I've placed my name and candidate number at the start of the video. Luckily, with the two seconds of the name and candidate number at the start, my product still fits within the appropriate time limit.

Other Improvements

Before I played around with the titles on my product, I cut, sped up and slowed clips down to make it fit better to the audio. I played around with the colours a bit more to make them bolder, and I removed all the audio that I didn't like.

After I've finished with the titles, I'm going to get more sound effects for my prouct, like a scream when Eve is killed and a grunt of pain when Warren hits Lucifer. I couldn't find any fitting sound effects on the internet so I'll record them myself an add them to the product. After this, I will make my whole audio quieter and lay my voice over on top, to make the storyline more clear.

Update

I haven't been updating my blog very often recently because I've been concentrating on editing my film further, and have so far made quite a few changes. I am currently working on the titles of the product, names and such, to make it"less like a music video". I experimented with a few fonts, and the choice came down to two. I initially wanted Handwriting - Dakota because it reflected on the childlike feature of Lucifer, but I ended up choosing Edwardian Script ITC, a loopy, neat font because it seemed quite eerie and reminded me of the font I'd seen in quite a few thrillers and horrors, and I wanted it to be more of a main convention. Plus, it looked a lot prettier!
